What Different Types Of Banners Are There?

There's more than one you know...

Banners are a universally popular form of visual media. They can be as small as a poster or as large as a billboard but will all offer advertisers and businesses an excellent way to offer information to customers, users, visitors, patients...basically anyone who sees the banner.

But what different types of banner are there? Is it not just one size fits all? Not at all, there are whole companies who specialise in crafting bespoke banners for any possible situation: from boat launches to budgie birthdays. Here are a few examples which you might find useful for your own advertising needs.

Mesh Banner

These banners are designed to be used outdoors. They have lots of little holes in so that instead of the wind catching the banner and carrying it half way down the street, the holes allow the wind to pass through easily and ensure the banner stays put. These are popular for large banner designs on the side of buildings, outside car garages and at open air events.

Exhibition Displays

If you have ever been to a trade show, chances are that you have been in a sea of exhibition banners. These are the big solid looking displays that stand behind or to the side of a presentation desk which are usually adorned with lovely big images demonstration products or with large slogans on them. These need to be easy to put up and take down for salesman or presenters in a small area.

Banner Stand

These clever promotional banners are popular amongst people who need to advertise on the fly. This might mean on the street, in a shopping centre or in an office. Basically the banner comes rolled up in a sprung spool and comes with feet and a pole. When you are ready to erect your banner you just need to pull the banner out from the spool and attach the pole to hold it up. Hey presto, an instant banner. Drug reps love pull up banners as they can make a big visual impact at a presentation without too much fuss.

Light Totem

This is a pretty fancy banner which stands like a big curved phone box with images on the outside and light coming from inside. These look great in darker places like clubs and inside venues. They benefit from being extra noticeable as they glow but can be a bit awkward if they require a power source. Many can be found with long life internal batteries though.
